NEEC-6521 Communications Systems I (CC 511)

Course Description: This course involves the study of digital communication systems. Various modulation formats and receiver designs are considered. Some topics in source coding and error-correcting coding will be covered.

  • Wave form coding, source coding and data compression
  • Pulse-modulation: Signal spaces, optimal receivers, probability of error
  • Baseband and bandpass data transmission. Introduction to channel coding
