Keeping up with changes in your field or expanding your knowledge in a related area is now more convenient than ever. NTU's graduate certificate program offers you the opportunity to compose a series of 3-5 graduate-level courses to provide you with a mastery of a specific topic area.  With a certificate, you can demonstrate mastery of a particular topic without the major commitment of time and resources of a master's degree program. NTU will work with you to ensure that your chosen courses will integrate into a cohesive program of study.

Requirements

The graduate certificate program is designed for technical professionals planning to continue study in their area or to develop core competence in a related area. Although a B.S. in a related engineering or technology field is recommended, experience in the field often provides a foundation for success in the program. A graduate certificate combines 3-5 graduate-level courses offered by NTU or its partner universities. The certificate is reviewed by NTU’s subject-matter experts to ensure that it will provide in-depth instruction in the desired topic area.

Registering

To register for a Certificate Program, we ask that you begin the admissions application process at NTU. You will not be required to submit official copies of your transcripts, and often there is no need for any additional supporting documentation. In completing the online admissions application, you will need to select the MS Certificate Program option. When you select this program, the registration process will ask you to identify which courses you are interested in pursuing, and it will ask you to identify an intended enrollment term. The last step in the registration process is for you to register for the available certificate courses you would like to take when each term opens for enrollment. Please note:  you may combine NTU-produced courses and courses taken previously from former NTU partner universities, but the courses you take to complete your certificate program must be NTU-produced courses.  Please look at the NTU-Produced Course Schedule to plan your program.

Certificate of Completion

To be awarded the certificate, you must earn a B or better in each course. Upon completing your course sequence for the NTU certificate program, NTU will award your certificate within eight weeks of receipt of payment and final grade for the final class. If the certificate is carefully designed, courses taken to earn the certificate may be applied toward a master’s degree at NTU and may be used for more than one certificate, if applicable to the program. At any time, you have the flexibility to apply to a master’s degree program, following the standard NTU admissions process.
